Christianson was an attorney from Dawson, owner and publisher of the Dawson Sentinel, former president of the Dawson Village Council (1910-1911), state Representative (HD 24, 1915-1925), and sitting Governor (1925-1931). He would later win election to the U.S House (CD 05, 1933-1937) and was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 1936.
Selb was an attorney from Minneapolis, former state Representative (HD 35, 1905-1907, 1909-1911), and former registrar of the Railroad and Warehouse Commission.
