Notes: Peterson came to Minnesota in 1887 locating at Minneapolis. He was convicted of violating the Espionage Act during World War I due to anti-war articles he had written in the local papers. His four-year sentence in Leavenworth prison was eventually nullified due to errors found in the appeal.
