Nolan was a resident of Minneapolis, former state Representative (HD 42, 1903-1909; HD 43, 1911-1915; HD 33, 1917-1925), former Lieutenant Governor (1925-1929), and former U.S. Representative (CD 05, 1929-1933).

Rollin Johnson was an attorney from Forest Lake, sitting state Representative (HD 43, 1925-1931, 1935-1943), eventual Railroad and Warehouse Commissioner (1943-1945, 1948-1949), and nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1946.

Lund was a resident of Minneapolis, Alderman from the 10th Ward on the Minneapolis City Council, candidate for the 3rd CD in 1946, and Railroad and Warehouse Commissioner nominee in 1952's special election.
