Chief Justice Wilson was reelected without opposition in his campaign for a third term. Wilson resigned on September 6, 1933 to enter private practice. Governor Floyd Olson appointed John Devaney to fill the vacancy on September 7, 1933. Devaney was an attorney from Minneapolis.
