Ferch was a banker and farmer from Minneapolis. He was the Republican nominee for SD 56 in 1906, an Independent Progressive candidate for Governor in 1924, and a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in 1940.
Dantes was a resident of Orr. Dantes was endorsed by the state Communist Party.
