The 1910 cycle was the last cycle in which partisan elections were held for the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Associate Justice Calvin Brown was reelected to a third term. He did not complete this term as he was nominated by petition to run in the 1912 general election for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and was victorious. He took office as Chief Justice on January 7, 1913. Governor Adolph Eberthart appointed Associate Justice George Bunn (who had lost his election in 1912) to fill the vacancy.

Philip Brown was a resident of Luverne, former Rock County Attorney, and sitting Thirteenth Judicial District Judge since 1891. Brown died in office on February 6, 1915. Governor Winfield S. Hammond appointed Albert Schaller to fill the vacancy on March 9, 1915. Schaller was a resident of Hastings, former Dakota County Attorney (1879-1891), former state Senator (SD 24, 1895-1899; SD 30, 1899-1915), Democratic-People's nominee for the 3rd CD in 1900, and Democratic U.S. Senate nominee in 1907.
