Brown County

Brown County is located in south central Minnesota and was established on February 20, 1855 by the Territorial Legislature. Brown County is named for prominent trader, speculator, newspaper publisher and editor, and Democratic Territorial Council Representative Joseph R. Brown (HD 06, 1854-1856; HD 10, 1857).
