Notes: | Schmidt was the first Republican woman to appear on a primary or general Minnesota gubernatorial ballot and second woman overall. Schmidt was a member of the Washington Saucer Intelligence group and during her 1958 U.S. Sente campaign stated, "I know many who have traveled in space ships or had interplanetary contacts." During her 1952 gubernatorial bid she campaigned against fluoridation of water. |
