Notes: Andersen became president and secretary of H.B. Fuller & Co. on July 17, 1941. Andersen had worked for H.B. Fuller since 1934 and was a sales manager at the time of his appointment. Andersen's 1962 reelection bid remains the closest gubernatorial contest in state history, with Andersen initially certified the winner by 142 votes on November 29th. A prolonged election contest resulted in a three-judge Ramsey County district court determining on March 21, 1963 that DFLer Karl Rolvaag had won by 91 votes. Andersen served a few months into this abbreviated second term until the court ruling came down. Andersen served on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents from 1967-1975.
