Johnson was an attorney from Plymouth, former state Representative (HD 34B, 2001-2003; HD 43A, 2003-2007), and Hennepin County Commissioner (2009-present); Kuisle was a farmer from Rochester, former Olmsted County Commissioner (1991-1997), and former state Representative (HD 31A, 1997-2003; HD 30B, 2003-2005).
Zellers was a state Representative (HD 32B, 2003-2013; HD 34B, 2013-2015) and former House Speaker (2011-2013) from Maple Grove; Simpson was a grocery store owner from New York Mills, former New York Mills City Councilman (1977-1979), New York Mills Mayor (1979-2002), and state Representative (HD 10B, 2003-2009).
