Hatch was an attorney from Minneapolis, former DFL state party chair, state Commerce Commissioner (1983-1989), DFL candidate for governor (1990, 1994), and state Attorney General (1999-2007); Dutcher was a former Republican-turned-DFL state Auditor (1995-2003) and president of the Minnesota Community Foundation (2003-2006) from Minnetonka.
Lourey was a former state Representative (HD 14B, 1991-1993; HD 08B, 1993-1997) and sitting state Senator (SD 08, 1997-2007) from Kerrick; Baylor was a former professional football player, Minneapolis Planning Commission member (1992-2001), and commercial construction firm executive from Minneapolis.
Savior was a perennial candidate from Minneapolis and DFL gubernatorial candidate in 1998 and 2002.
