Associate Justice Anderson was appointed to the Court by Governor Tim Pawlenty effective October 13, 2004 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Associate Justice James Gilbert on June 30, 2004 to launch a mediation practice. Anderson was a resident of Hutchinson, sitting Minnesota Court of Appeals Judge (1998-2004), and former Hutchinson City Attorney (1987-1998). Anderson was elected without opposition.
