Dutcher was an attorney from Minneapolis. She was also the DFL nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 2006.
Anderson was an assistant retail manager from Bemidji.
Koenig was a media consultant from Deerwood, the Independent-Republican nominee for Secretary of State in 1986, an Independent-Republican candidate for Auditor in 1990, the Independence Party nominee for the SD 16 special election in December 1994, a Republican candidate for SD 12 in 1996, and a Republican candidate for Secretary of State in 1998. Following his 1986 campaign for Secretary of State, Koenig pled guilty to a misdeamor charge for co-mingling campaign funds and the Ethical Practices Board delivered fines against him for two political action committee violations.
Wagner was a certified public accountant from Jordan.
Tretinyak was a financial consultant from Rochester. Tretinyak was endorsed by the party before it became known that he had been plagued by financial problems and owed money to creditors which he had not disclosed to the party.
Carlson was a business owner and manager from Karlstad and perennial candidate.
