Treasurer McGrath was renominated in his campaign for a second term.
Johnson was a resident of Milaca, owner and operator of a dairy farm, and candidate for Treasurer in 1994 and 1998.
Richards was a resident of Stillwater, former minister, Republican candidate for the 8th CD in 1974, Libertarian nominee for U.S. Senate in 1978, DFL candidate for the 8th CD in 1992, and DFL candidate for U.S. Senate in 1994 and 2018. Richards was found civilly liabile for killing his half-sister in 1982 and convicted of killing his attorney in 1987. He was serving a life sentence at a Minnesota correctional facility in Oak Park Heights.
