Ludeman, the GOP endorsed candidate, was a farmer from Tracy and state Representative (HD 20B, 1979-1983; HD 27A, 1983-1985); Schulstad was a member of the Minneapolis City Council (1976-1997).
Lindau was Mayor of Bloomington; Parent was a retired veterinarian from Foley.
Doug Williams was a resident of Chaska, Independent-Republican candidate for HD 35B in 1990, Independent-Republican candidate for HD 35A in 1994, Republican candidate for SD 35 in 1996, Reform nominee for HD 35A in 1998, Independence nominee for SD 35 in 2000, Independence nominee for SD 34 in 2002, Independence nominee for CD 02 in 2004 and 2006, and Independence candidate for U.S. Senate in 2008; Stephen L. Williams was a resident of Shakopee.
Brattrud was a retired businessman from Waseca and Democratic U.S. House candidate for the 1st CD in 1982 and 1984; Olson was a resident of Minneapolis.
Mooney was a registered nurse from Lake St. Croix Beach; Gerads was a resident of Cottage Grove. The Mooney/Gerads ticket was the first all-woman gubernatorial ticket by a major party in Minnesota.
