Rothenberg was a Minneapolis attorney and two-term state Representative (HD 41B, 1979-1983) from St. Louis Park.
Anderson, a St. Paul resident, began her resume as a perennial candidate for multiple offices by losing the 1978 special Democratic U.S. Senate primary. Her 1982 candidacy for attorney general marked the first appearance on a primary ballot by a woman for the office in Minnesota history.
