Anderson was an Olympian (1956, hockey), attorney from St. Paul, state Representative (HD 37, 1959-1963), sitting state Senator (SD 49, 1963-1967; SD 44, 1967-1971), and eventual U.S. Senator (1976-1978).
Head was a Minneapolis attorney, former two-term state Representative (HD 30, 1961-1963; HD 38, 1963-1965), and sitting Attorney General (1967-1971).
Heck was a resident of White Bear Lake and Industrial Government nominee for U.S. Senate in 1972. He was nominated by petiton.
Kirkham was the Mayor of Fridley.
