Secretary of State Donovan was renominated, facing opposition in the primary for the first time since 1956.

Williams was a law school student from Minneapolis and Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve.

Peters was a resident of Afton Township and a former U.S. Navy air mechanic.
