Ericsson was a member of the Minneapolis Library Board, candidate for SD 33 in October 1940's special election, nominee for HD 33 in 1942, and candidate for HD 33 in 1948. He was also a candidate for Railroad and Warehouse Commissioner in 1960.
Ogle was an attorney from Mankato, sitting state Representative (HD 08, 1955-1959), and party-endorsed candidate. He would win the GOP nomination for Lieutenant Governor in 1960.
