Dickinson was a lumber company owner from Bemidji, former state Representative (HD 62, 1943-1951; HD 64, 1963-1967; HD 64A, 1967-1969), and state Senator (SD 62, 1951-1955).

Peterson was a sign painter from Duluth, a Republican candidate for Governor in 1944, 1952, and 1970, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in 1946, a Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 1960, and a DFL candidate for Governor in 1966.

Boock was a high school principal from Lake City.

Eddy was a real estate dealer from Staples, former Staples Alderman (1938-1944), and Mayor of Staples (1944-1950).
