Nelson was a farmer from Hutchinson, former Lieutenant Governor (1953), and Administrator of the U.S. Rural Electrification Administration (1953-1956). He would later serve eight terms in the U.S. House (CD 02, 1959-1974).
Werner Werner was a salesman from Blue Earth and GOP candidate for Governor in 1948, Clerk of the Supreme Court in 1950, and Lieutenant Governor in 1952.
Indykiewicz was a resident of New Brighton and GOP gubernatorial candidate in 1952.
