Attorney General Lord was nominated for the second time.
Peterson was an attorney from St. Louis Park, former four-term state Representative (HD 44, 1939-1947), and nominee for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 1950.
Ryan, a Minneapolis attorney, was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor in 1940, DFL candidate for U.S. Senate in 1946, DFL candidate for Attorney General in 1950 and 1954, an independent Liberal candidate for U.S. Senate in 1954, and DFL candidate for the 2nd CD in 1960.
