Stassen was District Attorney of Dakota County (1931-1938).
Nelson was an attorney from Austin, GOP gubernatorial nominee in 1934 and 1936, and would later become a state court district judge and Minnesota Supreme Court Justice (1953-1972).
Leach was Mayor of Minneapolis (1921-1929; 1937-1941) and a GOP gubernatorial candidate in 1924 and 1926.
Northrup was a resident of Owatonna.
