Secretary of State Holm was reelected to his 10th of 16 terms.

Rasmussen was a resident of Moorhead and state Budget Director. Rasmussen was subsequently the Farmer-Labor candidate for Governor in 1942, DFL Railroad & Warehouse Commissioner nominee in 1946, DFL nominee for Treasurer in 1950, DFL candidate for Governor in 1954, DFL Railroad and Warehouse Commissioner (1952-1967), and DFL Public Service Commissioner (1967-1970).

Kennedy was a resident of Kerkhoven, Democratic nominee for an at-large U.S. House seat in 1932, and Democratic nominee for Secretary of State in 1934.
