Associate Justice Hilton was renominated in his campaign for a third term.

Olson was appointed to the Court by Governor Floyd Olson on March 5, 1934 to fill the vacancy after Associate Justice Homer Dibell died in office on February 17, 1934. Olson was a resident of Warren and Fourteenth Judicial District Judge.

Anderson was a resident of Minneapolis and nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1922 and 1924.

Vanderburgh was an attorney from Minneapolis, candidate for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1918, 1920, 1922, 1924, and 1928 and nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1926, 1930, 1932, and 1936. He was the son of Charles Vandenburgh, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court from 1882-1894.

DeReu was an attorney from Marshall, municipal judge, and Marshall City Attorney.

Modeen was an attorney from Minneapolis, GOP candidate for an at-large U.S. House seat in 1932, candidate for the SD 29 special election in December 1932, GOP candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 1936, and candidate for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 1938.

McQuat was an attorney from Grand Rapids, former Itsaca County Attorney, and Democratic nominee for Attorney General in 1920.
