Regan was an attorney from Mankato and state Representative (HD 08, 1931-1933) winning his first of back-to-back gubernatorial nominations. Regan would also be the Democratic U.S. Senate nominee in 1940.
Van Dyke was the St. Paul Postmaster.
Hegland was a resident of Minneapolis who ran for Mayor in 1933.
