Governor Preus was reelected to a second term.
Johnson was a farmer from Litchfield, former state Representative (HD 26, 1915-1919), and sitting state Senator (SD 26, 1919-1923). He was later elected to the U.S. Senate (1923-1925), was the Farmer-Laborite guberntorial nominee in 1926, won election to an at-large U.S. House seat (1933-1935), and sought the Farmer-Labor gubernatorial nomination in 1936.
Indrehus was a farmer from Foley, former state Representative (HD 45, 1915-1919), and candidate for governor in 1920.
