Associate Justice Dibell was elected in his campaign for a second term. Dibell was appointed to the Court by Governor J.A.A. Burnquist on October 14, 1918 following the death of Associate Justice George Bunn on October 9, 1918. Dibell was a resident of Duluth, former Eleventh District Court Judge, and former Supreme Court Commissioner.

Siegel was an attorney from St. Paul, former state Representative (SD 41, 1917-1921), Democratic candidate for Attorney General in 1922, Farmer-Labor candidate for the 4th CD in 1940, and eventual state Senator (SD 41, 1931-1955).
