Wheaton, a resident of Minneapolis was the state campaign manager for President Woodrow Wilson in 1916 and Democratic nominee for Clerk of the Supreme Court in 1906.
Comstock was a resident of Mankato, sitting Sixth Judicial District Judge, former state Representative (HD 10, 1893-1895), independent candidate for SD 11 in 1902, and candidate for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 1924.
