Eberhart was elected to a second term, but would succeed Governor John Johnson following his passing on September 21, 1909. State Senator Edward E. Smith succeeded Eberhart.

Reiter was Mayor of Rochester. Reiter would later win the Democratic nomination for Railroad and Warehouse Commissioner in 1912, the Farmer-Labor nomination for CD 01 in 1920 and 1924, the Farmer-Labor nomination for VIce-President in 1932, and was a Farmer-Labor candidate for an at-large U.S. House seat in 1932.

Anderson was a merchant from Belgrade.

Higbee was a resident of St. Paul and Independence League State Party Chairman. The Independence League was backed and founded by William Randolph Hearst. The party fielded nominees for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and treasurer in 1908.
