Irgens was a farmer from Lyle and former state Representative (HD 04, 1875-1876).
Biermann was Olmsted County Auditor for six years (1875-1880). He was the Democratic Party's unsuccsessful nominee for governor in 1883 and elected Minnesota Auditor in 1890. Biermann was nominated by the Democrats and then later nominated by the Anti-Monopolists.
Stevens was a farmer from Glencoe and editor of the Farmer's Union who served in the state House (HD 18, 1857-1859; HD 06, 1862-1863; HD 26, 1876-1877) and state Senate (SD 18, 1859-1861). He was the Temperance nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 1869 and Democratic-Anti-Monopoly nominee for Secretary of State in 1873.
