Kanabec County

Kanabec County is located in East Central Minnesota and was established on March 13, 1858 by the Territorial Legislature. Kanabec County was named by state legislator William Folsom of Taylors Falls after the Ojibwe word for "snake," since the Snake River winds north to south through the county. Mora is the county seat.
