Houston County
Houston County is located in the Southeastern corner of Minnesota along the Iowa and Wisconsin borders and was established on February 23, 1854 by the Territorial Legislature. Houston County is name after Tennessee U.S. Representative (CD 07, 1823-1827), Tennessee Governor (1827-1829), Texas President (1836-1838, 1841-1844), Texas U.S. Senator (1846-1859), and Texas Governor (1859-1861) Sam Houston.
