Notes: Becker settled in St. Paul in 1849. He was president of the St. Paul & Pacific Railroad and the Western Railroad of Minnesota. Becker was appointed to the Railroad and Warehouse commission by Governor Lucius Hubbard in 1885 and served until 1900. Becker was also a candidate in 1857 for one of an expected three at-large U.S. House seats and placed third, but when Minnesota received only two seats in 1858, the top three finishers drew lots and Becker came up short.
