Notes: Allen first settled in St. Cloud in 1868. He dissolved his parternshp in the grocery and drug store in 1872 and briefly moved from St. Cloud. He returned in 1874. In 1875, after losing his election to state Senate, Allen moved to St. Paul and bought an interest in the D.D. Merrill & Co. publishing house. He died within a few months.
